On May 9th, Walmart, FMGI and Alquist 3D celebrated the grand re-opening of the Owens Cross Roads Supercenter near Huntsville, AL. Our awesome team, Cory Clevenger, Danielle Zinn, Nick Pulley and James Morgan, led the interior remodel and the 3DCP of the 5,000 SF addition of the OPD (online pick-up and delivery) area. As part of our Give Back program, we presented a check to The Huntsville Margarita Society, an organization that provides a meaningful Christmas for otherwise under-provided children of Northern Alabama by throwing the premier holiday party in the region.
There was so much excitement surrounding this project with the Proof of Performance of 3DCP for retail construction. Local TV station, FOX54 featured our very own, President & CEO Darin Ross and Alquist CEO Patrick T. Callahan in this story.
With this project, 3DCP for commercial building is now proven to be cheaper, faster and stronger. Using a robotic arm, 3DCP built this store 75% faster than traditional CMU methods. Together with Alquist 3D, our team set a speed record for wall construction, building 16-foot-high concrete walls to encase a 5,000 SF structure in just 75 hours (instead of 3 weeks) using 3DCP. And it cost 15% less than similar builds that used traditional CMU. We’re transforming the process with operational enhancements including: less environmental waste, increased quality with consistency + precision and efficiency.
Shout out to our entire team for a job well done. We are on the cusp of a retail construction revolution!
